At the time of writing, at least one of the Times Square cameras also offers streaming video so instead of just a still picture, you actually see a proper moving image in real time. There's audio as well so you can hear what's going on too!

The still picture cameras generally update every few seconds giving the impression of movement, albeit a little jerky.
