The Odense Airport also known as Odense Lufthavn or Beldringe Lufthavn in Danish is situated near Odense in Denmark. Its airstrip was originally built for military purposes when Denmark was occupied by the Germans.

The Odense Airport operates frequent flights only during the summer. In the year 2006, flights began operating between Odense and north Italy while in the year 2007 a route from Odense to Nimes in France was started.

The island of Funen which is close to Odense has plenty of tourist destinations and attractions including the adjoining town of Nyborg with its Nyborg Slot, a historical fortress. Besides you have the historic attractions of Fredericia which lies on the easterly tip of the Jutland peninsula.

Visit Copenhagen which is the capital city of Denmark and 2 hours from Odense while the city of Aarhus is ideal for visitors interested in the heritage of the Danish Viking where the Vikinge Museet is of particular interest displaying a variety of artifacts found in the process of excavating an old Viking village.

At Nyborg, you must see the lovely church of Vot Frue Kirke on the Gammel Torv and the Nyborg Slot fortress close by. The Mads Lerches Gard which is partially timbered is also a popular attraction.
