Kamari is a coastal village on the southeastern part of the Aegean island of Santorini, Greece. The village got its name from a small arch that rises at the south end of its beach and is what remains from an ancient sanctuary devoted to Poseidon. Today, it stretches along a beach covered with black pebbles, which is the longest of the island. Kamari has a number of bars and tavernas or restaurants along the curve of the bay, where you can see Greek ruins at the north end of the beach.
Although Kamari is most renowned for its stunning, you can see and explore some of their attractions like the fascinating church of Panaghia Episkopi which was built in 1100; the splendid church of Panagia Myrtidiotissa. Visit the beautiful port at Oia and explore the unbelievable landscape around the still active volcano and the ruins of the Venetian castle, but don't forget your camera as it is picture perfect area.
Other activities to do and see while in Kamari, is to take a stroll through the town to view its fabulous surroundings, or take a trip at its cliff top site, where you can experience Greece as it has been lived for thousands of years.
