Lloret de Mar, part of the world famous Costa Brava, has the best beach in the area, as well as plenty of nightlife and many other attractions to offer the tourist.

Part of the world famous Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar has the distinction of having the best beach in the area, which also boasts blue flag status, and is a long stretch of soft white sand, rimmed with azure waters. Because it’s also a popular tourist destination, and somewhat of a resort town, there’s also plenty of nightlife on offer, and young people from all over Europe flock to the area to visit the beaches, followed by the clubs, bars and restaurants. Lloret de Mar is not all about beaches and parties though, and there are several sites of cultural and historic importance, like the Castle of St Joan, which dates to the middle ages, and was important in the defense of the town. If you’re superstitious, a visit to the famous Statue of the Fishermans wife, which is reputed to give those who touch her foot and look out over the sea good luck, is also a good idea!
