Sant Antoni de Portmany, is the second largesst town on the island of Ibiza, and is known as the clubbing capital of the world.
Sant Antoni de Portmany is the second largest town on the island of Ibiza, which is the clubbing capital of the world. It hasn’t always been that way though, and for around two thousand years, Sant Antoni de Portmany, like the rest of Ibiza, was a sleepy fishing village.
One of the non clubbing related sights in St Antoni de Portmany is the sculpture known as ‘The Egg’ which is a large egg shaped statue on the main roundabout, said to commemorate the rumored birth of Christopher Columbus on the island.
Of course, it’s the west end of town that interests most visitors, since it’s here that the clubs are. The main street is known as Carrer de Santa Agnes, and you can ask almost anyone on the island for directions. Eden and Es Paradis are the two biggest clubs on the island, and they are the home to most of the world’s biggest DJ’s during club season, which runs from June to September.
