The numerous interesting museums must be seen in the city of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
The city of Stockholm, which is the capital of Sweden, is actually spread over an archipelago of fourteen islands, on Lake Malaren. The islands that make up the city are connected by bridges, and the city is reached by the Arlanda International Airport. Once you are in Stockholm, there is an extensive network of trains, buses, taxis, and boats that will take you just about anywhere in the city that you want to go, as well as to other nearby countries. Make sure that the Stockholm Archipelago, which consists of twenty four thousand islands of varying sizes, and is a beautiful natural area. Another must see is the Old Town area of Stockholm, which includes local landmarks like the 18th century Stockholm Palace. Of course, like most major European centers, Stockholm has a huge number of fascinating museums. Some of these are the Skansen, the world’s first open air museum, and home to over one hundred and fifty historic museums. Then there is the National Museum, which houses some of the world’s most famous masterpieces, and a host of others. Stockholm’s nightlife is legendary, and ranges from casinos to restaurants serving just about any cuisine you can imagine, and clubs and bars in the Stureplan area of the city. Hotels in the city too, range from student and backpacker friendly hostels to well known luxury hotels like the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel and the Hilton Slussen, so there should be no trouble finding something suitable.
